Kapture, a.k.a Bryn Walsh, is a 22 year old producer from Manchester. Drawing influences from Garage, House, Dubstep and much more his sounds have a distinct melodic and atmospheric style. I asked him a few questions about his production, this is what he said.
You can download his blootleg of Mario Bassanov & Vidis feat. Jazzu here
Q1: When did you start making music and why?
A: i started making DAW music in 2008, though the music
i started producing was drum & bass it wasnt untill
around about may 2010 did i discover the appeal garage
had for me, With artists like Instrumental, Phaeleh,
Synkro, VVV, burial .etc Pushing various interpretations of garage
you can probably see how many producers and new producers
would be drawn to the genre.

Q4: Your tunes have a distinct vibe to them, do you think
Thats something important in your music and has it come
naturally or developed over time?

A: I think a distinctive sound is an important asset to any musician,
look at burial he's worshipped for his originality and distinctiveness,
as to the latter part of the question, a distict vibe was pretty much
from the word go yet on the productions side of things, they developed
over time. i hope to maintain consistency in my distinctiveness.

Q5:How do you go about working on your tunes? is it a spur
of the moment middle of the night business or is it more
drawn out?
of the moment middle of the night business or is it more
drawn out?
A: variable in that respect, Producing seems to fill in the
gaps between work and sleep, and at the moment even thats
not enough. at times i can get a track done fairly quick
in comparison to others, i will admit that theres some middle
of the night business though :)
